The ncc day is overseen by the Director General with the rank of Lieutenant-General. He is supported with two additional Director Generals (A and B) with two-star ranks (Major-General, Rear-Admiral or Air Vice-Marshal). Five Brigadier level officers as well as other civil officials support him. The headquarters is located in Delhi. The Directorates are comprised of 17 Directorates that are located in the capital cities of the state, headed by an officer of the rank of Major General of one of the three Services. Depending upon their size and the development of NCC across each state, Directorateshave upwards of 14 groups headquarters under them through which they manage and supervise the activities of the NCC in the state. Each group is headed by an officer holding the grade of Brigadier or equivalent or equivalent, referred to as Group Commander. Each NCC Group Headquarters control 5-7 units (BNs) which are commanded by Colonel/Lt. Col (or equivalent). The Battalion is comprised of companies which are commanded under the NCC's Associate Chief Officer (ANO) of the rank of Lieutenant to Major. In all there are 95 Group Headquarters across the country, who have oversight over a system of 667 Army Wing Units (including girls and technical units) 60 Naval Wing Units, and 61 Air Squadrons. Two training institutions are in operation that are named Officers Training School, Kamptee (Nagpur, Maharashtra) and Women Officers Training School, Gwalior.

ASSOCIATE NCC OFFICER (ANO)

ANO is an important link within the NCC structure, bringing together the battalion and the cadets. In actual fact, ANO is the feeder node of NCC because he or she is the one who is in direct interaction with the trainees all through each year. TIME of SELECTION : July/August month of each year.

ENROLMENT of STUDENTS as NCC CADETS:

  1. Eligibility Conditions
    • Citizen of India.
    • Bearing good moral character.
    • Participation in an educational institution.
    • Meets the prescribed medical standards.
    • Age-Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) Age Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) 15-23 years old.
    • The Enrolment Time for Senior Divisions/Wings (Boys/Girls) The duration of the enrollment period is 3 .
  2. Physical exam: This is first step of selection procedure. It comprises chin-up, run as well as sit-ups.
  3. Writing test as well as interview.
  4. Application for Enrolment.
  5. Students who wish to be accepted into the Senior Division shall apply to the ANO/ Officer Commanding of the nearest NCC Unit.
  6. Medical Examination.

DOCUMENTATION:

  1. The 10th and 12th classes mark sheet.
  2. Certificate for the Blood Group.
  3. Aadhar Card photocopy.
  4. Cadet/Guardian's Bank account details photocopy.
  5. Receipts for college admission fees.
  6. 04 Passport size photo civil uniform.

TRAINING PERIOD

The duration of the training program in the case of SD and SW is three years with an extension of one year in exceptional circumstances. Each cadet must undergo the service course for a time that is at least four hours per week throughout the course of their training. Training is not carried out during periods that the school or college in which a cadet is taking part is closed for the duration of a holiday. Every cadet has undergone service-related training at a minimum duration of 75% of the total hours in the annual college. Each cadet who has completed one year of instruction and is in his (second year), attends an annual training camp that lasts 9-10 days to meet requirements to pass the certificate exam.
